When former Bungoma East member of parliament Mark Barasa's gruesome murder was discovered, there was horror. His tongue and eyes had both been gouged out. Additionally, it was claimed that the deceased's left hand was missing and that acid had been used to partially burn the body.
The first MP for Bungoma East, 99-year-old Barasa served from 1963 to 1969.
The family claimed that they had looked everywhere for him and even made public announcements in the hopes of locating him since they believed he had lost his memory and was unable to navigate back to their house.
Barasa had 27 offspring with his four marriages.
His family paid tribute to him, noting that when he served as an MP, important projects like Webuye Pan Papers, Lugulu Girls, Chesamisi Boys, and Friends School Kamusinga were introduced to the community.
The victims' family members are now pleading with the government to expedite its investigations and prosecute those responsible.
The morgue at Cherengany Nursing Home received the body.
