PARENTS OF THE CHILD BORN WITHOUT ANUS IN BUSIA CALL FOR HELP

A family from the Budalangi constituency is asking for donations to assist them fund $500,000 for their 6-month-old daughter’s urgent surgery at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH).

The family claims Pamela Achieng was born without an anus, a vital organ for humans, and requires immediate treatment.

Dorcas Omonyo, the mother of three and caregiver for KNA Achieng, expressed her grief at witnessing their daughter’s difficult existence.

“We need $500,000 to reserve my daughter’s surgery at JOOTRH in Kisumu. Doctors have determined that my baby needs repair because she was born without an anus, said Dorcas.

The issue was found at Port Victoria Hospital in July of last year, but the family has not been able to gather the money for the procedure.

We were sent to Kisumu’s Jaramogi Odinga Hospital after visiting Port Victoria Hospital and Siaya Referral Hospitals so that Achieng may undergo surgery there and have a regular excretion process, according to Dorcas.

Pamela’s father Francis Onyango, now lives in fear of losing her child as the fisherman can do little to pay the needed amount.

“We are worried that we might lose her due to the unbearable pain that she is undergoing yet we have no means to help,” Omonyo said.
